Use 90% for a strong wired connection, 70% to 85% for normal Wi-Fi, and lower values when the connection is busy or the server is slow.

Does the calculator use GB or GiB?

It uses decimal GB, where 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Some operating systems and storage tools use binary GiB instead, so very large files can differ slightly from what you see on disk.

Can I use this for upload time?

Yes, if you enter your real upload speed instead of download speed. Do not use your advertised download speed for cloud backup, video upload, or file sharing unless that is also your upload speed.

Why was my real download slower than the estimate?

The estimate cannot see server throttling, Wi-Fi interference, router load, VPN overhead, packet loss, background updates, storage speed, or other people sharing the connection.

Does this include data caps?

No. It estimates time, not monthly data allowance. Check your plan data cap separately when downloading large games, backups, videos, or system images.

Does the site save what I enter?

No. The tool runs in your browser tab. Your recent answers stay only on the page while you use it, and they are not sent to a server.
